Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom in reality tv show together: The line between reality and absurdity, always fuzzy when it comes to the Lakers, became a little blurrier Wednesday when it was announced that E! will indeed broadcast a new reality show featuring Lamar Odom and his wife Khloe Kardashian. The show will begin filming in the next few weeks and begin airing in April when the Lakers will begin their playoff push toward a third consecutive NBA title.

Though Lakers coach Phil Jackson recently raised the possibility that too many of his players have been distracted by outside activities this season, Jackson said that it was within Odom’s rights to pursue the project.
Odom acknowledged that even a mini-slump will raise questions about whether he should be devoting more energy to basketball. “Yeah, of course,” Odom said of the potential criticism. “That’s almost like the added incentive a little bit. I’ll make sure I remain sharp and stay in the gym, but basketball is basketball. I won’t tire myself out. Of course, if I don’t play well, it’s easy to take a shot at me.”
During the game, Odom took a hard spill, laying on the court for a moment, clutching his elbow. The play only reinforced how fragile his career is. "I could have broke my arm," Odom said.
He said the opportunity to do something different for an athlete, a reality show, appealed to him. If he were opening a car wash, he said, nobody would say a word. "People want Taco Bell, sneakers and that's all you get. Some people can't even fathom anything else."The show, as yet unnamed, is not likely to have much access beyond that which is granted to any other media.
“There are some things we won’t be doing,” Jackson said. “There’s no access to the toilets and the showers in the locker rooms. The coaches' offices, videotape room, [trainer] Gary Vitti taping ankles – those are things that we probably won’t be showing.”
Odom, who was dubbed the team’s social director earlier in the year by Jackson, has one of the better senses of humor in the locker room. He hopes the show plays to those strengths. “Funny, sit-comish, entertaining,” Odom said of what he hoped the show would be. Odom, who has appeared on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” and has done some bit acting, described the show as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“If my wife was flipping burgers, if I wasn’t in the gym, I’d be flipping burgers,” Odom said. “As an athlete you’ve got to take advantage of opportunities. When the ball stops bouncing, it stops bouncing.”
